No one wants to be ripped off or feel cheated, and I think all of us have that fear when working with contractors.

Our house in Olalla had been vacant for over a year, and when we returned in the summer of 2010 we were confronted by not one, but several homeowner nightmares including black mold, carpenter ants, and extensive rot cause by two slow leaks. We asked someone we knew locally to recommend a contractor, and he suggested David Rommel.

From the moment we met with David, we knew we were in good hands. He very quickly assessed the damage and helped us to prioritize the needed repairs. He also, thankfully, worked with us to keep costs manageable. He was able to start work within a short period of time, tackling one major problem at a time.

David proved not only to be personable, punctual, and efficient, but also a master craftsman. He did a much better job than the original builder. We were so pleased with the repair work he did for us that we asked him to take on the job of making some much needed remodels we had been delaying until we found just the right contractor.

"To anyone who maybe be planning an addition on to a home or remodeling, I wanted to share my positive experience I had with my home addition done by David Rommel. During the permit phase he created drawings that saved me money and worked with the City to help expedite this process. David is dependable, honest, and knows what he is doing on the job. He takes his time to get it done right. This includes cleaning up at the end of each day, never using any bad language on the job, reviewing the progress with me throughout the project. We had to be out of the house a lot while work was being done, and we felt entirely comfortable with David being there while we were gone. The quality was great.”

We hired Dave Rommel to construct a 20' by 40' patio cover in clear cedar with a panel roof to allow sun in. The first thing that impressed us with Dave was his attention to detail and calm pace to make sure we knew all our options. The second impressive decision is when all of the pre-cut cedar was delivered to our home, Dave spent the next morning checking his specific measurements that he provided the mill. Dave came to me that afternoon and said he was sending all of the lumber back because it was not to his measurements or standards. I was impressed even though it would delay the project a few days. Our patio cover is a work of art. Everyone who comes to our home comments on the detail and beauty that Dave created. Dave will build you something that both he and you will be proud of and will last forever. His attention to detail and meticulus nature guarantee this.

Dave Rommel always overperforms for us whenever we have a job to do. He has great ingenuity and ideas. He is the person we call when we need a project done correctly, on time and within budget. I recommend Dave to people when I get a chance. He is a man of his word.

Two years ago Dave did a large project for me. He designed and built a bulkhead, two tiered concrete patio and sweeping stairs to the beach. I have received rave reviews "wow, that is amazing work". Dave is easy to work with prompt, talented, knowledgeable and just a nice guy. Hire him!

We are real Northwesterners. We love our dogs like we love people. We knew that only one person could build our dogs the perfect dog run and custom dog house. Dave was awesome to work with. A lot of contractors promise to be done by a certain date and fail to honor their word. Dave finished ahead of time with craftmanship that can only be described as Amish - that is a major compliment! Those people know how to build. Two winters ago, a medium sized tree fell on the fence of the dog run. Not only was the fence unaffected, the tree broke in three after crashing into it. So Amish!

I have known Dave Rommel for over 5 years. He is the most thorough & meticulous builder that I know! Every task that I have seen him work on has been completed to the highest standard of workmanship imaginable. Dave does not cut corners, even when it came to building our doghouse! Our doghouse experienced a potentially catastrophic fate when it went flying off the back of a pick-up truck on the way to our house. Upon its retrieval from the side of Highway 16, it remained structurally and aesthetically perfect. He has earned a reputation for his indestructible workmanship and his "do-it-right-the-first-time" - attitude. Dave also built rolling cabinets for our portable church sound system. I wanted to buy an extra one as a bunker in case of an earthquake! If you hire Dave Rommel, you will not be disappointed with his work ethic, quality or attention to detail. Go ahead - you are about to experience the legend…
